Upper windshield sun blocking?

Has any one had the upper portion of the windshield tinted or blacked out?
The sun kills me at times.
Upper portion of front door glasses also!

I will within a week of my Maverick arriving.
I've tinted the top 4" of all my vehicles for the past 26+ years. My C-Max is starting to peel after 10 years; but, the headliner is falling too. My truck has been fine since 2008.

All mine are done, since my city has a nasty habit of putting the traffic lights directly ABOVE the line where you stop, instead of across the intersection where you could....you know, see them? So int he morning you gotta pull yourself forward and look directly up into the bright sun.

Had my front side windows an upper part of the windshield done yesterday.
I got 20% tint on both. Had them put ceramic tint and I love it so far.
Suppose to block a lot of the heat and uv rays.

Each summer, we get around a ten day run of plus 110 degree weather with a sun that will bleach your bones while you're still alive. Having the windows tinted and the strip across the top of the windshield makes a huge difference in the amount of heat you feel on your skin while driving as well as the temperature inside the truck.

As someone who has gone a couple rounds with skin cancer, I appreciate the protection that tinted windows afford. I use dark tint on the front windows and the limo grade tint (darker) on the windshield strip, bringing it down to the A line. It looks straight across in the photo but it's actually curved to match the top of the windshield. The back windows and rear cab window came tinted on my '25 Lariat Hybrid. Works for me.

Yes, local shop did it in 20 minutes from a pre-cut 10-12 TALL piece...30%....for $30.
First place I stopped would do it since it was such a small job.
I'd recommend doing it to just above eye level. I would not want to look thru it all day.

Don't like the looks but it was a necessity for my morning sun.

Most towns have a window tinting or wrap shop that will install a “windshield brow” on your windshield interior for less than $49

Maverick specific DIY kits are probably available for <$40. Anyway, I visited my local shop in my first week of ownership to install brow. I live in a top 3 sunny city USA

Note the AS-1 line that is etched into your windshield. Fed Law prohibits a shop from legally tinting below that mark fyi…
One can DIY lower at risk of getting a fix-it-ticket or unwanted traffic stop…

AS-1 line - good to know. Found mine is 2 inches below the AS-1 line. I'll remove and raise my windshield...tinted strip. The AS-1 line make sense.

No body seems to believe this...but technically tinting is regulated by the federal government standards....but most states simply do not enforce it....but I got a $150+ ticket for too much tint on side rear windows in a rental car, I could not even tell they were tinted, but the officer's little machine could measure the tint level......After retiring I started working for a commercial truck/car leasing company part time and they have to do everything by the book or get major fines, so I got an education on the fed rules. According to them, fed. rules are just not enforced in all states, but interstate trips can get stiff fines.

Thought, it was not a big deal, I'll ignore it, but I ended up having to pay it or never drive in Iowa or Florida again...ticket goes with the driver, not the vehicle owner...eventually rental car company agreed to reimburse me for the ticket...It was actually a leased car, that a customer had tinted. If stopped again officer said if tint was not removed and ticket not paid, and you get stopped again you will likely get a "go to jail card", at least in Iowa.

It's a source of revenue for many states that enforce tinting, headlights, bumper heights, etc. Both the ticketing state patrolman and my rental car company confirmed the law. I had not been speeding, but simply stopped at a "weigh-station" where the officer stopped me...and admitted most states don't bother enforcing the law, but we do.

I did a 70% clear ceramic for the whole front window and it has been a game changer when driving into the sun. Will do that for all future cars over the top stripe

I mostly just rely on the sunvisors and sunglasses, but on the driver's upper corner I have a black vinyl decal to cover the area that the sunvisor doesn't cover.

I did my whole windshield 55 ceramic, makes it look a lot cleaner in my opinion.
