Problem with Mabett Fender Turn signals

There is a black limo parked out front of where you are. Black tinted windows. No door interior door handles in the passanger sitting areas. They will "escort" you to a place to answer any questions you may have.................or may not have.................

It is wierd that it is only the passenger side. 2 sets and both times it rained the day after install. Both times the passenger side filled with water....not just condensation. The first set, the light started to malfunction. This set, it still works, for now. I'm debating whether or not to just return them for a refund, or try another replacement and seal them with silicone before install. It is nice to have for some extra visibility on the freeways. I am still not completely sold on the looks.

Just checked my phone and saw your msg. Darn! I must have just missed them. I'm lined up at runway 24, #3 for departure at CRQ, headed out for some training and then a $300 hamburger at F70.

Fraud = NO ITS NOT! You are returning a defective item that the mfg warranteed and sold through Amazon. Amazon will deal with Mabett.

Besides, the moisture that presumably caused the failure happened within the 30 day Amazon window, he just didn't get around to dealing with it during that period. I seriously doubt Mabett or Amazon is going to spend time to call it's legal counsel over a $90 item.

You are returning a different item from a different transaction, that is literally fraud.

The OP needs to work with Mabett (Ryan) directly and open a CC dispute as a last resort if no resolution can be met.

I had the same moisture problem with my passenger side light and contacted mabett (Ryan) and he said he would send me a new one, and I replies with address and he did not reply after that. So, good initial response, but no follow up.

I've had decades of experience with "sealed" units from automotive headlight capsules to aircraft avionics. Condensate inside these enclosures is VERY difficult to prevent, and attempting to seal the unit often makes the problem worse. IMHO the best solution in most cases is to provide a small drain/vent at the bottom edge of the device to let it breathe.

I had problems with my right side markers as well. I was able to return through Amazon as I was still in the 30 day window. A new set was received and worked fine and so far both are leak free. This would be sneaky but hey, why not. Order another set and as soon as you get them, replace your bad unit and send them back as defective for your refund. Another issue I had with both sets were the right side would stay on for about 5 minutes after energizing for any reason. I solved this by connecting my right side headlight wire to the left side after disconnecting it from the right and it has been flawless since.

First off, after spending $90 there is no way I’m going to take time and tear these down to TRY and make them right like they should be when I get them.
Second, if this site is allowing a vendor to sell a product or sponsors this product with all the complaints and issues it seems to have and many customers if not all have gotten a defective product then that says a lot about this site.
Third, everyone just quit buying this product until changes have been made and these issues are resolved.

I think the side lights have great potential.
I like the looks of Mabett fender flares.
I think they would look nice on my truck. I know they also have quality issues. I will not buy any products from Mabett until, I hear that they have improved their quality.
The members on this form have shown that Mabett products are substandard.

I'm inclined towards it being yet another thing to modify to what I want. I think that is because I'm viewing the maverick as something I'm going to tweak and customize right off the bat. $80 feels cheap for what these are so modifying it into something far better isn't a stretch for me. So many other options for this are going to be triple that easily.

I also have a lot of condensation and it's only on the passenger side? I did return 1 set already and got a new set that have been installed for about 2-3 weeks and already full of condensation. I called Mabett but had to leave a voicemail. Will see what they say, seems to be an issue and I won't be purchasing another set

If you don’t buy they won’t improve their quality. It’s a double edged sword. They need $$ to improve or create products. They have no incentive to improve given they’re the only seller that offers these sort of lights.
