Miles to Empty after filling tank

I topped off my Hybrid Tank with gas from a can for a trip. I noticed that the miles to empty is only reading 357 and not the usual 500 + miles. Do you think this will correct itself during the trip? The gage is reading correctly so i am not too concerned. If there a procedure to reset this?

It should adjust itself closer to reality as you drive - It's an estimate, but its based on how far you've been driving and how much gas you've used, biased to more recent travels.

Did you not hit/hold down ok, like it tells you on the instrument cluster screen?

I did not see that for the Miles to empty item, that i think is for the trip mile counter.

have you been pulling a trailer or somthing in the bed that is causing a bunch of windage?
