Ah, OK. Thanks for the clarification. My bad assumption 🤭.
I would just check with your dealer first. I was told last Friday that they had the fix for my truck and would do a mobile service. It's possible they forgot I had a 24 but if they did at least it will be their wasted trip, not mine.

Good day

I just had my Mav in the shop yesterday for the Trailer Module update to be carried out, along with a couple other things (like the rear passenger door window trims pulling apart at the joint, upper rear corners).

Funny thing is, I have a change to my trucks 12 volt charging level when it is running. It was noticed immediately when I started it up to leave my dealer's lot.

I have an inexpensive volt meter in the dash 12 volt power port which I know indicates 0.1 volts high.

Since March my 12 volt charge levels when driving were varying between 15.1-15.2 volts (corrected from displayed value). (Over 15 volts is not good for an AGM battery).

(I do regularly recharge the battery with an appropriate AGM 1-7 amp Canadian Tire charger).

As soon as we started up the truck, I noted that it was charging/system voltage was at 14.59 actual! By the time we got home 20 kms later it was indicating 14.19 volts (actual).

(I metered the battety-boost points under the hood after the truck had shut everything down 2 hrs later and it read 12.8 volts....12.8-13.0 volts is considered fully charged).

I started it twice since and same ballpark voltage readings.

I was working around and in and out of the truck yesterday (this would slowly draw down the 12 volt battery, waking the truck up repeatedly).

I just got a call from my wife who is out and about (and knows about my 12 volt system...ahem...interest) to let me know that the truck was charging the battery at 15.1 indicated volts (15.0 volts actual).

She knows that over 15 volts is bad, and now knows the indicator reads 0.1 volts high, and called to let me know. She is a keeper, alright!

This is great, as that is the maximum normal charge voltage for an AGM battery.

I just don't know why the values changed as this module has never come up as being associated with the charging levels (or lack thereof) for our trucks.

The only work that was done (having to do with electrical or modules) was the Trailer Module Reprogramming, recall # 26C10B.

Has anyone else noticed a similar change/improvement in their Hybrid 12 volt charge profile after the Trailer Module reprogramming?

I ask as there are other current threads that discuss the charging values, causes etc, and their short comings for our trucks (just turn on your headlights day and night when driving and that helps...long story short!)

I realize many don't look at things like this, but it doesn't hurt (much ;-) to ask, right?

Have a good day,

Andy
Very interesting on the 15.1 -15.2 constant charge applied voltage!
My 2025 EX hybrid 4k tow powerpoint volt meter always charges at 5.1 - 15.4 volts, mostly it sits at 15.1.
I will post an update once I have the trailer module updated.

After having the trailer module update & parking brake Recalls done on my 25MY Lariet Hybrid, immediately afterwards on a cold morning start, the ICE revs at a higher RPM than before, noticeably higher. Wife noticed it immediately. After engine warms returns to normal RPM. Otherwise no change, & where's the correlation with those recalls & cold engine operation?

Good day

We had the parking brake update done when we had our spring tire change/oil change done end of last month. (2025 Hybrid/Lariat/AWD/4K)

We haven't noticed any unusual change in the warm up rpm...though the truck does seem to rev up pretty good during its initial start on a cold morning. Nothing that I would consider unusual...just noticeable. It idles down nicely, and it doesn't take too long.

We don't sit and idle normally though. We start, give it a minute while strapping in/settings/screen stuff and then we gently begin a short drive through the neighbourhood to finish warm up once the garage door fully closes. (Yes, I wait to make sure the door is closed and secured before departing...weird, eh? ;-)

I detest sitting and idling unnecessarily and the seats/steering wheel heat up quite quickly and we have a garage so that makes it easier on the truck.

We probably won't drive again till Tuesday, so will be looking to see what the charge voltage is while driving.

When I get home I like to check to see what the 12 volt battery charge level is after everything shuts down with my multi-meter. This is to see if the battery is getting charged properly as I don't have an amperage display.

Have a good day,

Andy

Similar behavior it appears Andy. I'm not concerned, all seems OK, just puzzling why engine RPM might be affected after what seems to be totally unrelated updates? Crazy Mavericks keep us guessing & wondering. Cheers!

Yes, I find it interesting, and my wife likes it as it keeps me entertained and out of trouble. ;-)

Have a great one as well,

Andy

i turned my car on this morning and got notification that this Trailer recall would be updated OTA at 1 am this morning and my car would be unavailable for 10 minutes. it was giving me the option to reschedule if i wanted too. i will follow up if its done.

edit. just out of curiosity, i went down to my Maverick to see if the notification would show up again, and sure enough it did. i attached a pic. since i dont have a trailer...this is 1 recall that could wait.

That is awesome! I got tired of waiting and had Ford Mobile Service install this update a couple of days ago.

Good day

So, I have been trying different things to replicate my trucks charging indication after a visit to the auto-spa (dealer) for the trailer module update.

It looks to me like they had my truck hooked up to a battery charger as they did their work...which is completely appropriate, as the techs would not want to drain the trucks 12 volt battery.

This is what I did to verify if any changes took place:

-we had some appts to go to, so at my wife's, I sat in the truck and had the radio playing, opened and closed doors, popped the hood and generally wasted 12 volt electricity. Charging went back to its normal level...just a bit over 15.1 volts when we started driving. Not optimal, as over 15 volts is high for an AGM. And then slowly decreased as the battery charged. (I do keep the headlights on now when driving, as that is supposed to help keep our truck batteries as a better charge level).

I recharged my battery overnight and next morning we ventured out again and my 12 volt system was indicating 14.99 volts on our voltage indicator...same as when we left the dealer after the trailer module update etc was carried out.

No mystery, which is nice...they had just had a charger hooked up during their work.

So, my observation has been resolved. It is better this way, as I don't like mysteries!

Have a good one,

Andy

Update... No update! When I picked it up they didn't do the update or a warranty issue, but we're happy to do the work that got them paid.
The update for the trailer module for MY 2022-2024 has not been released yet...only MY 2025-2026 ha the fix available.

Just had mine done this week on my 24, or at least the mobile guy said it was done. Said they had the fix but no code (billing maybe?) till the end of the month so it would not show up on my ford app till then. He told me this after the job was finished and he was ready to leave so I didn't do a deep dive into what he was telling me. Maybe this is why some are getting the update while others are being told it was not available?

My 2024 just flashed the module failure warning as I was driving today. The trailer running lights all works, just no turn signals or brake lights.
Will be calling first thing Monday morning as I actually use the small trailer frequently. Should have kept my bulletproof 2008 Ranger. I am at 39K kms.

My trailer recall update came OTA very early this morning (overnight). Everything seems okay, although I have not towed in a few weeks. (The lights worked properly prior to this update however. )
