I just got my 26 Hybrid XLT AWD a month or so ago. I got it after I claimed I would never get another ford after a horrible experience with a used certified ford escape (2013 I think).

I could not be happier. It really is an impressive vehicle and a marvel of design choices. The fit and finish does not hold a candle to my 2015 GMC canyon, but that is the point. They made compromises to get the cost down while being an effective truck.

I want to see them go harder in future versions with two features specifically. The FITS is an excellent concept. As a Bamboo X1 carbon owner, it’s sweet to see that I can print my own thing.

But it’s limited to underseat storage and rear seats. I wish they would bring the connector and give the dimensions for more things. Really embrace the DIY of the vehicle.

the flex bed is amazing. Even with a think spray on cover the dimensional lumber fits. They outdid themselves with the 12v and other features. I hope in the next generation of flexbed they go further, adding more storage compartments like the GMC canyon tailgate storage or the Honda Ridgeline under bed storage.

Really truly is an amazing truck. I just hope they make these features more outstanding and keep evolving them instead of being “done”.

Yes all manufacturers keep evolving or they die. Many car manufacturers have come and gone and those that survive evolve. Only thing is they don't need to follow designs that are not mainstream and have and will cause the demise of vehicle. So let's look at this.

or the Honda Ridgeline under bed storage.
That is the downfall of this truck. One they have to raise the bed limiting access or making it more difficult use (height). Next by limiting the bed height they reduced ground clearance. Ground clearance especially in a truck is crucial. We are not done, just a guess either you haven't owned a truck or used a truck as a truck, for how do you think you would get out the spare tire if you had rocks, sand etc in the bed of the truck. Also only enough room for a doughnut if you get the 4k trailer tow package on the Maverick do you understand why the conventional spare is included?

Last but not least every doctor that I have known and have heard always state do not lift with your back but with your knees. The cubby in the bed is an accident waiting to happen. Besides removing the option of using ones knees you have to lean over the bumper and use just your back. This is a ergonomic nightmare.

Not dissing the Ridgeline but they are not selling and I believe lack of ground clearance, no conventional spare, not able to access the spare if hauling or using the bed all has pushed truck buyers away. Of course I could be wrong but I wouldn't follow designs that make no sense or a deficit not a asset.

On my case I love the maverick, but, but I love the look and functionality of the Ridgeline, the main problem is the fuel consumption, I talked to few ppl on person and they told me that they're in the 14-18mpg, so do I, I never been able to get 20mpg in my 2022 EB, but I barely hit the xpressway my drive is 90% local road with the stop and go all they long, the Ridgeline give 14-18 on combine escenarios, about the ground clearang I never scraped my maverick so I guess the RL is pretty close too.

The real seat area is mega clever, and the freaking bed is awesome, the Ridgeline is becoming a dinosaur with the same V6 and no incremental gains at all.

That said, If you give me for free both vehicles to pick one my head would xplode, but I think I might go for the RL.

Very few people giving away vehicles, to be frank they would go belly up. Just look at sales figures, you know those scraping up money or borrowing and paying interest to own one. That in itself shows what the consumer wants. Actually s redesign on the Ridgeline could possibly be a Maverick contender or competitive. As it is now it's sad especially with over 2 decades of customer base. That alone should speak volumes. Another is if anything a company should lead but in the case of compact trucks one would be advised to follow the leader or what the consumer is willing to pay cold hard cash for. The very thought of following failing sales lines of another manufacturer is ridiculous if not insane.

I’m not a 3D print guy but I’ve never found the FITS system functional or appealing. Gimmicky really.

The tailgate compartment on the Colorado and canyons is useless. The compartment in the ridgeline is nice but I wouldn’t want a composite bed like it has and it causes the bed to be much shallower than our Maverick.

I’d like to see improved interior quality, added Lariat features (memory seat, 10 way power adjustable) and ability to option the advanced AWD system with the Hybrid.

Doing this and increasing towing capability to 4,500-5,000 and I’ll pay $45k for it all day long.

But when they drop the new sub $30k EV pick up I expect a price reduction in the Maverick.

Nothing is perfect, and always ready or open for improvements. Yes I would like to see improvements on the Maverick as well. I don't think you will see the price go down unless incentives or rebates. That being said it would only happen in dire situations. I don't really see that EV truck taking off. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see it.

Yep towing capabilities need to pushed higher also the advanced AWD needs to match the other trucks towing capacity, 2000lbs is a joke. I hope Ford understands this. Not only new potential buyers but those with the 2000lb towing will be trading them in for a 5000lb towing capability. I can see it being very profitable addition to Ford and a win for the consumer.

I can’t imagine that the advanced AWD system is truly the limiting hardware for 4K tow. I think they’ve just refused to make the advanced AWD system available to anything but tremor or lobo.

Tremor is limited by the radiator and suspension. No idea if lobo faces those issues.

It's something about the RDU. It has to be because other vehicle models that offer advanced AWD has limited towing as well. Well at the last time/ 2 years ago look at the Bronco sport same issue limited towing capabilities with that RDU. It most likely needs beefed up like the ECVT or reworked from the ground up. Trust me I wanted the tremor option for the approach angle, ground clearance, rear lockers just couldn't live with a 2000lb limitation on towing. Also in 24 they took a huge hit in fuel economy at least in the rating and what reviews I found on line before ordering the 24.

So I opted for FX4, 4k tow, optional P235 which offered a more aggressive tread and increased ground clearance. I max out the 4K often it's the lowest towing capacity I could use. So far I haven't exceeded it, that I am aware of. Just would like to have a little more leeway. Also just in case it's needed.

Not me unless those issue I mentioned would be corrected or the others have posted. The current Ford Maverick offering peak torque and HP without redlining is not only help longevity but is very useful off road. That in itself is a huge downside with low ground clearance the truck Ridgeline needs a makeover if it's going to compete with the majority.

I'm not sure what it's called not a big fan of engines that turn off pistons creating cold spots. Then again that's just me, others may disagree and have the right to. Just curious seeing the demand is low on the Ridgeline, how well does it hold its resale value compared to a huge demand Maverick?

Oh I hope Ford does do it. I see many competitors coming into this particular market.
