SoundScreen Windshield Crack and Squeaking

Anyone else with an internal crack (crack in between two panes of impact free glass)like this? Dealer is telling me this is normal. They had another Lariat Maverick with same line? My windshield has been squeaking on and off for the last 3,000 miles and I’m convinced it wasn’t set correctly or there is some type of defect with the windshield.

Not the wiper heater, clearly looks like a crack to me...

I highly doubt that is a wiper heater, the line isn't even completely straight. Looks like a crack and NOT NORMAL.

Welcome to the squeaking windshield/dashboard Maverick club! There are hundreds of us, just not according to my dealership and Ford.

Brought my truck to an independent glass show and verified that is a defect in the glass and recommended I push forward for a new one. I have an appointment scheduled at a different Ford dealer to push for resolution. In addition to that crack the squeaking has increased. Hoping to get resolved early February.

It's part of the wiper heater element. Exact same line on my Acoustic Windshield, as well as the one Safelite replaced it with for an actual crack from a rock.

I'm not certain, but my guess is that it's the wire that supplies power to the rest of the wiper park heating element . I posted the same question last year after I got my truck.

The squeak/rattle is likely the poor sealant job that mine also had. It was fixed when Safelite replaced my windshield. I have a post on here with a video of what mine sounded like. $100 insurance deductible and it is long gone.

I like how the OP calls it SoundScape in the thread title but his pictures clearly show the proper name of SoundScreen.

Anyway, @ReadyMav I hope you get this sorted out and find a good dealer to work with.
I am also from the Peoria area. I purchased my Maverick and Mach-E from Uftring Ford and so far they have been awesome. Not just on the sales side but on the service side to.

Not sure who your dealer is now but Uftring might be worth a shot.......unless they are the dealer you're currently with then I have no idea.

Crazy. I have literally the exact same thing in my Lariat Tremor that I just noticed tonight. I have just over 500 miles on mine. Did you end up getting anywhere with Ford, or confirmation if it was a crack or heat wiper related? I ran my fingernail over mine on the inside and outside and there’s no noticeable crack on either side. Hoping it really is something for the wiper heater.

Just curious if the satellite windshield was the same Ford SoundScreen acoustic windshield, or do they use a generic? Curious if you found any difference in them if not an OEM windshield? (Sound, any issue with wiper heating element after, etc). I don’t know much about how the features of the lariat windshield can be replicated by a third party. Thanks for any feedback!
