I think Flex-ifying it would probably be too niche to make a model to slot in the lineup direct from Ford. If Ford makes a pass through between the bed and the cab for the next model refresh, which they 100% absolutely should because that is a big opportunity on a unibody chassis truck - it would be cool to see someone make a Maverick mini-Centurion as a custom job! https://www.motortrend.com/news/centurion-classic-big-bronco-history-photos-details

Butt ugly was in the eye of the beholder.
Some of us liked the kind of retro station wagon vibe it gave off. Test drove one once back then and thought it was one of the most practical cars out there. I think it failed because the sticker price was butt ugly to get one with a reasonable number of options.
Sad that it failed. The Mav is a bit small, maybe for this, but it is two inches longer than an Explorer.

Come to think of it, couldn't do it on the maverick floorpan with a flat roof, next seat would have to go on top of the wheel arches, have the roof raised like an Xterra or something. What was that vehicle that called it "panorama seating" like it wasn't a design flaw?
