I ended up calling Downtown ford in Toronto 400km from where I live after months of nonsense in my local area... 2500$ deposit but thankfully I'm in a position where it's no problem. Salesperson is John Mitchell first person with any customer service skills I've spoken to.
I'll update again once I get my confirmation email.
P.S. I looked into getting a Maverick in the US and driving it over and it doesn't make sense financially $$$ for anyone else wondering. It would add about 4300$ to the MSRP plus about 2-3 weeks on phone with customs and headaches. Based on today's exchange rate.
