I haven't decided if I'm taking ownership because I need to play the numbers game.
The current numbers:
- Forester monthly loan: $295 (3 months in, 2018 XT with 16k miles)
- Forester monthly gas: $170 (93 octane (lower octane gets worse MPG)+22 MPG; based on local gas prices)
- Forester monthly...
I'm leaning toward the grilles not being hybrid versus EB, but trim based. Maybe one is for XL and the other for XLT/Lariat or XL/XLT versus Lariat.
I think the fangs are the actual headlight shape so nothing to remove per-say.
Not that close, but within 200mi of me I'm seeing similar. The listings don't stay up long but they're frequent. Also wondering how many are customer orders just waiting to be picked up versus actual available inventory.
I feel for ya. It's enough anxiety waiting for a starting build date email. I can't imagine having to wait nearly three more months to get it delivered.
Is Ford doing something for the batteries in all these hybrids stuck in limbo?
Yeah it's a bit wild that there's still outstanding orders because the stars haven't aligned correctly with parts availability. I feel like we're at a point that they should just start setting parts aside for these 300+ day orders as they come in, rather than allocating all of them for new...
Kind of where I am too. I need the truck for a trip at the end of May so if I get a late March production date it might be cutting it close and I would just have to grab one off the lot before that deadline.
I owned a black vehicle and liked it when it was clean and new. When it was dirty, it showed every dent, scratch, scuff, fingerprint imaginable and I didn't care for it.
Nature is healing. :P
Good news for those of us who aren't super picky about color and just the package options who might be looking to buy sooner than later.
Thanks for keeping us posted with threads like these. It's especially helpful for people coordinating selling their current vehicle before/when their truck arrives and not too early.
I hadn't questioned it but I always wondered what the window stickers meant on sites marked as "Special Order". Makes sense as Ford doesn't require a down deposit and people can just walk away upon delivery. Gives them some advanced advertising in-case they do so.
