Easy loading Kayak racks

I modified these racks so my wife could load and unload her 16’ sea kayak by herself on her 2001 Ranger. She finally decided to step up to a maverick as the small ranger was never coming back. Any thoughts on how to make similar arrangement for her new maverick?

Yakima cab crossbar and exactly what you have there. Maybe put that on a hitch extender rack for the length and angle.

Please note: we only use this arrangement on island (middle of Penobscot bay)not on highway. I have a conversion to raise the rear bed rack to a normal bed rack arrangement.

Saw an early review where they used 2x6 to build a tall rack and loaded the back of Mav with logs higher than the roof. You could easily use the 2x6 slots to build a rack towards the back to mount your roller system onto...

Any inexpensive bed cross bars and a universal roof rack. Same basic setup. They have clamp on bars and roof racks for pretty cheap.

Solution to Maverick and kayak rack. Been using this arrangement for a few weeks works fine. A bit higher than the Ranger. Now that I know it will work I’ll cut off 7” or so to lower the stern a bit more to make it easier for my wife to load her kayak by hers.
