Hey all,

I signed a "deal" and put a deposit down, but didn't get an order number or confirmation or anything. Do we get those in Canada? A dealer would presumably put the order in asap right? First time buying new here.

You ordered in September?

From previously talking with Canadians that ordered cars I know US manufacturers can't give out much information because of Canadian privacy laws. And that many if not most Canadian dealers aren't very good at giving any information.

But you should of received some type of order confirmation such as a DORA from the dealer showing what exactly you ordered, the order date and pricing. For Ford you won't receive a VIN until shortly before the order is sent to production.

Not being a polite Canadian, if it happened to me, I'd be in the sales manager's office until I received some information.

Hello

The Old Man is correct, that you should have been given a DORA print out. It would have your build information and order number on it.
Unlike in the USA, Ford of Canada will not send you any monthly emails, that say: "We love you!"
As Canadians in the "dark north", Ford really keeps us in the dark.

Call Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Centre: 1-800-565-3673
Monday - Friday 8AM - 11:00PM ET
Saturday 8:00AM - 8:00PM ET
Sunday Closed.

Ford's Customer Service will be able to inform you if they have received your order.
Also, your deposit is fully refundable at anytime up until you receive a vin number.

I hope that this helps you.

Did e told you about waiting a year for it

As others have mentioned, you don't get much. I ordered an EcoBoost in May 2022 and gotten nothing at all beyond that initial order summary sheet. Still waiting....

The sales manager or inventory specialist at your dealer might actually take up to a couple of days to enter it, if they're lazy. Keep hounding them until you get a WBDO printout like the attached, confirm with them that it has been submitted, and then keep hounding until you have an order number with a letter and several numeric digits after (A1234) - before submitting it to the order bank, some dealers have placeholder numbers on this form that mean nothing to Ford.

With that A1234 number, and the dealer code from the printout, you can go to Ford Canada chat and ask them to confirm that you are clean and unscheduled in the order bank.

Then you wait. Looks like you ordered an eco, should be about 4-6 months.

Canada order banks are open and ecoboost demand is under our regional allocation.

My dealer was awesome, kept me in the loop. Once you get a vin and order number, you can switch to the official ford tracker and you can load your disappointment week by week lol.

Hang in there, we got my mav and a bronco (Real one) both around a year in Canada. The states seem to be still having crazy wait times for certain regions.

Nothing aside from an order summary, no. The dealer said they still had allocations for ecoboosts in Canada, and while he said it could wind up I get a 2024 rollover I can expect even as soon as 16 weeks but no way to know. Funny that my summary does explicitly say it is not for sale or resale in America lol.

Update: the salesman told me they had about 1/6 the allocations needed for their orders this month and to wait until April. I will also be told when a VIN is assigned.

April is when the sales manager has told me will be my lucky month. (Fingers crossed 🤞)
My order is a roll over dropped from a 19 down to a ten, but there are 200 orders at my dealer waiting to be built.

My order started as a hybrid in velocity blue with a few options. Rolled over to an Ecoboost, Area51 blue, and no options.

Your salesman sounds to me as if he is being fair.

Must be a big dealer to have over 200 Maverick orders. Then again, I never asked how many my dealer had.

I was really surprised that the sales manager told me that they had 200 orders waiting.
It just start with him telling me that Ford gave them a lot of allotments and then he let it slip about the order numbers.

Yes this works. I got the WBDO from my dealer. Contacted (via chat) ford Canada. After providing my order code and sales code, they could see my order. And they provided me the link to track my build once a VIN is issued. The only caveat to this is….. my original singed deal is $475 less than my just printed WBDO. The base cost has risen by $500 from Nov 16/22 till now. We will see what happens when and if I get a 2023 build!

Today the dealer told me I have a VIN assigned. Not showing a build week, but I think that means that I have been chosen by the claw! I am pretty grateful given what some people are experiencing.
