Ludwig, Man I don't remember where I got the .146 or .147, but noticed on the Forscan download page the current version is v2.3.59. Download and install that. Ken

I already got my replacement battery, an ACDelco silver/cadmium Gold AGM battery from Amazon for $193.41 taxes and shipping included. Took the OE battery which would not hold more than 11.75 volts and dropped it off at the dealer. I chewed out the SM for telling me my battery tested good. I...
I wondered about that, if my BMS had reset to AGM after I switched or if it was already set to AGM. More proof that Ford intended AGM batteries in all the EcoBoost Mavericks but cheaped out because of supply shortages. Even now my dealer, Western Slope Ford, refuses to pay to replace my battery...
Did you mean H6? That's the size specified in the OM. Also I wonder about specifying more details in Forscan what the battery is. I assumed since it showed AGM it was able to successfully evaluate my battery. Since installing my AGM battery I tried to charge it on 4a and 6a charger but couldn't...
This plus limiting the charge to 80 percent. Which makes you wonder why. After much reading on the subject, it appears that it's to boost fuel economy by lessening the load on the alternator. Likewise with auto start stop. These are ways to increase fuel economy without actually making the...
It's not a lack of intelligence. Ford knows exactly what the issue is, and if they acknowledge it, are afraid they'll have to replace batteries on thousands of Mavericks. So they play dumb and waste your time pretending to give warranty service. I wouldn't be surprised if there ends up being a...
This seems as bad to me as the VW and Cummins diesel scandals. And the Auto Start Stop feature, while increasing fuel economy, puts wear and tear on your starter. Ways to improve fuel economy numbers without actually improving fuel consumption.
That's what happened to me. I had my 22 EB in to the dealer three times, overnight at least twice. I was having to jump start nearly every morning. They kept telling me my battery was good and couldn't find anything wrong. Finally they blamed my radar detector, which was unplugged. After that I...
Lucky you, you have an honest dealer. Western Slope Ford in Grand Junction Colorado couldn't give a rat's anus and does everything they can to get out of warranty support. I've heard the same from others.
You're right that just switching to AGM isn't the answer. Other considerations:
a) a GOOD battery (AGM or FC) is part of the answer. No doubt whatever battery Ford supplies (FC or AGM) will be a cheap battery not designed to last more than 3 years, when the B2B warranty expires.
b) I've read...
It depends on the dealer. The long term solution is to install an AGM battery. The flooded cell Ford battery is junk. Some reported their dealer replacing it 3x with another Ford battery. In my case I took it in to them 3x, leaving it overnight twice, and they said they couldn't figure out the...
I didn't do anything to the BMS after changing my battery. Is that something I need to do? I have used Forscan before. Where would the settings be for charge level, and why wouldn't you make it 100%? Thanks.
No doubt the Diehard will outlast the OE battery and probably live up to or exceed its warranty. One thing I forgot to mention - I also checked the amperage draw when parked. It was something below 50 milliamps, not enough to kill an ordinary FC battery. I've lived in my current house for 30...
Most people want to disable auto start/stop, you shoulda left it alone ;-)
Interesting. I wonder why that is?
When I dropped off my dead FC battery, the dealer told me their AGM battery is something like $270. I told him the same thing, that I would never buy a Ford battery.
From what I've...
Thought I'd post my experience. I got tired of randomly having to jump start my Ecoboost, sometimes several days in a row, sometimes more than once in a day, other times two weeks with no issues. So I finally took it to the dealer under warranty. After a total of three times having it in the...
Thought I should follow up on this. I got tired of randomly having to jump start my Ecoboost, sometimes several days in a row, sometimes more than once in a day. So finally took it to the dealer under warranty. After a total of three times having it in the shop, they couldn't figure it out...
This is bogus, a cheap plastic scoop that falls off and Ford can't give you a part number. My dealer (Western Slope Ford in Grand Junction, Colorado) looked up the part and yes indeed it does exist but costs $80. Why replace a cheap hunk of overpriced plastic. On top of that, they won't give out...
It's been awhile so don't remember everything I did, but haven't had a door chime for a long time, so that must have worked. The headlight problem may have just been a false assumption from the dead battery issue (in other words, it had nothing to do with headlights), which progressed to the...
Has anyone ever come up with a part number for the PTU air scoop that mounts on the FX4 skid plate? I talked to my local dealer and he acted like it was available but refused to give me a part number. I'm a little tired of dealing with Ford issues and poor dealer support.
