The entire point of my comment was about the very early throttle response from idle.. Not at 4500 rpm. Not at 3000 rpm. Not even 2000 rpm. From idle. You still following because it's really very simple.
My entire point was that response from idle is not as robust with the ecoboost...
It duplicates some if not all of the diagnostic and service capabilities of the OEM computers the mechanics use.
You can get an OBD2 scanner for under twenty bucks and it will read check engine light codes and even give you some basic information about the operating state of the vehicle...
No. Off idle they always increase lag. Some of the power has to get diverted to spool up the turbo. Are you telling me that my lived experience is somehow wrong? Particularly when I have other non turbo vehicles that do no experience that lag.
Ford has certainly tuned things so as not to...
I went through all the options and decided the best one was to use up the tires I had before replacing them. 99.99% of my driving is commuting on good paved roads and all i want is AWD in case of snow or if a road gets blocked and I have to go around it in soft ground. The pirellis were...
Agreed, but if you look at the curves you only get that torque at the higher end of rpm's. My specific complaint is applicable to pretty much any turbo 4 particularly one that has auto start stop. Together they almost killed me.
Why do you want to replace the tires? Which ones are already installed? I had the pirellis on mine and liked them better than I thought. FWIW My new car has yoko geolandar a/t go15's and I really like those. They are 3 peak rated.
It's better yes but idle speed is like 750 rpm. My specific criticism of turbos is about trying to come hard off idle. You could have quad scroll turbos and lag would still be a problem.
Also, it sounds like OP's concern is the ability to accelerate on long on ramps and in that situation...
The coolant leak issue has been addressed with a redesign. You can google it but the head gasket issues were the last version.
The eco has PLENTY of power to accelerate., but it likes higher RPMs as do all turbo engines.
The only area where there is an issue IMO is coming from a...
Can't help but wonder if this sort of thing had anything to do with why mine was so grabby when it was cold? My gut was telling me to check all the fluid levels when the vehicle was new - there is nothing stopping the factory tech from making an error in filling these fluids. But I didn't do...
Unless you have a specific use - like working on your laptop while in the car, I'd skip it. Even if you do, the inverter is not a pure sine wave anyway - it made my 120v LED work light blink rapidly from the cycling and would probably be bad for electronics. I would skip it if I were to do...
The clearcoat on my last car was trashed by the local brush and roller wash. My mav only ever got powerwashing by hand or touchless automatic wash. The paint was pristine two years out but had a bunch of dings through to the undercoat from road debris.
I can guarantee you that the paint on...
Unfortunately no. I really liked my truck because the custom order process allowed me to get exactly what I wanted, no more no less. It was handled well, plenty of power, fun to drive and was fairly practical.
Two things led me to trade it in: 1) reliability issues. Not only the...
Depends on whether they have good installers or not. My dealer is also a rhinoliner dealer. I had them do mine since bedliner was constrained at the time. They did a really nice job, VERY detail oriented and would not hesitate to use them again. They also took ford points as payment. :)
