I don't flat tow, but I use those kits on my older vehicles that don't have TPMS. They work great! The sensors that come in the kit will certainly be able to attach to the existing valve stems and work separately from the sensors inside the wheels
I like the ability to have it just "remember" the last auto stop/start setting I used instead of disabling it outright through FORScan. I have used FORScan to change a few settings already, but this was one task I felt is better handled by the dedicated device. To each their own!
I bought a more expensive version ($100) that only required me to pop off the little panel on the right side of the console and insert inline with the connector there. Took me five minutes to install and works great.
