The rears really don't do much. They were the last thing I did after upgrading the front stage and adding a 10" sub. I went with entry level Morel Maximos (I put Morel Tempo Ultra's in the front.)
Sound deadening made a big difference as well.
Lot of factors such as temp changes and short trips or long trips effects intervals. My parents have a 2.0 ecoboost Fusion. They put less than 3000 miles a year on the car. I still change it once a year. Temp changes in Michigan and lots of short trips.
Coverage, fitment, and durability. I have the factory "winter" ones and they are okay. Living in Michigan, with lots of salt and slush in the winter, car mats have to come up high and contain water.
Totally agree. I went with Cooper Road and Trail ATs on my FX4. I had Cross Climate 2's on my previous vehicle, a Mazda CX5 Turbo. They were unbelievable in the snow and also handle really well in the dry. Sharp steering.
I put these on right when I got the thruck and they are great. Just firm enough, just enough give. I also like the fact that they are flat and dirt doesn't catch in them and rub the paint. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Even the hardware is all stainless and of good quality.
I'll second this. Switch the tires side to side. If it pulls the other way or acts differently immediately take the truck back to where you bought the tires and demand they swap for them for a different set.
CTek MXS 5. I have a couple of these and they seem to work better than the Schumachers and Nocos I've tried over the years. I've used them on both flooded and AGM. It does a good job of deep charging the battery then floating it. A lot of the other chargers I've tried may charge faster, but...
FYI...Costco will also ship you an AGM since they are sealed. I did that with my vehicle before the Maverick (Mazda CX5 Turbo). Swapped it out and took the core to the store.
BTW my 24 Eco also came with an AGM
They are five pounds heavier each. They are almost 5% taller (less aero) and wider (more drag). Could be a combination of all that and the speedo and computer are now 5% off.
As far as ride, make sure they didn't over inflate them. Put whatever it says on the door in the tire (cold). Do not...
Me too. I average 22.5 in the winter, mix of city highway, goes up to 23.5 in the summer. On a trip, all highway, in ECO, I've touched 28 once, normally 26.5.
Now there are reasons. Mine is an FX4 with 4k. The 4k has different gearing. Also, I put on 245/65/17 Cooper Road and Trail AT...
I agree with this. I put CrossClimate2s on the Mazda CX5 Turbo I had before the Maverick and they were great. Quiet, crisp steering, and probably the best tire I've ever had in the rain and snow. Worth the money as they were wearing great when I traded the Mazda in.
I second this. I've been very happy with the Cooper Road and Trail. Traded the original tires in. I also went 245. I think 245's look like what should've been on there from the factory.
Rides good, quiet, great in the snow. One of the lighter choices in the bigger size so I only lost 1-2 MPG
