    Mud/Rust does help in certain situations when u need to turn off traction control to produce maximum tire spin but in the OPs hill situation all that was needed was real tires.

    Yikes- I make it a habit to check the skid plate fasteners after every dealer oil change- I wonder why they replaced the PTU & Drive/Shaft ?
