Yes. Had to remove the tall skinny part of the antenna, the āshark finā portion stays. Everything continue to function as normal though. So didnāt bother getting a stubby replacement.
I suspect the moonroof would open ok, but canāt be 100% certain since I do not have one.
The Moonroof would be partially blocked by the GFC tent section that is above the cabin.
As for car washes, totally fine. GFC are probably stronger than the Mav itself. I do tend to use manual car washes...
The miles per day vary a lot. Depends on where I want to go.
In the first year I only had the GFC and did a lot of miles because I wanted to see a lot. I think I did 30k+ in the first year. The GFC takes only a few minutes to setup though so that helps.
Now I stay a few weeks at the same spot...
I did have a brake controller installed that controls the electric breaks on the Scamp. So maybe that helps.
I also do not go above 60 MPH and take it easy accelerating etc.
In general I try to be mindful that I do not drive a beast of a truck that can pull anything it wants.
It seems to have...
My 2020 Scamp is 1550 lbs with all tanks empty.
I tend to keep the water and waste tanks mostly empty when I tow.
I do have some items in there, but not that much. Mostly clothes and a few other items.
I believe I should be below the 2000 lbs max tow. At least that is why I got this...
Night sky is pretty good but there is some light pollution from the army base that is around here.
If you are from Montana then I am the one who is jealous. It is my favourite state to visit in summer. Unbelievably beautiful state if you like the outdoors.
Its a GFC (Go Fast Campers). Very high quality and made in USA. Great company. But expensive as well. They were a little less pricey when I got mine. Price has gone up even higher. But I do love mine so no regrets.
First year I only had the GFC so slept in there. Second year I got the Scamp and it is 10x more comfy in there so obviously sleep in the camper now.
Only use the GFC for guest bedroom and to angle my solar panels to the sun.
Use the cabin portion of the GFC a lot though. It holds a lot of my...
Rattles with any uneven road. I assume the newer Mavericks donāt have this issue, but the early Mavericks developed a windshield rattle that I donāt think Ford ever did anything about to address.
āLuckilyā I also have a crack in my windshield now so eventually need to get it replaced and then...
Two years of living on the road with my Maverick and camper.
What an adventure. The American West is an incredible place to explore.
47k on the Hybrid Maverick, new tires, a few more dents and scratches, a todo-list of recalls, the front windshield is now comically loud, the brakes squeak some...
@BAScott62 very nice to see someone else try this setup with the Maverick.
I no longer travel this way but this flooded me with nostalgia of when I first started traveling in the Mav.
Very cool. Hope you have many more fun adventures.
I had a brake controller installed and a proper 7 pin connector so that the electroc brakes on the trailer work properly. It was less than $300 to get this done at U-haul.
